I am Dr. Sravani Vaddi, an astrophysicist with a deep interest in active galactic nuclei, AGN feedback, galaxy evolution in groups and clusters, and supermassive binary black hole systems. I hold a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Rochester, USA. I was a post-doctoral fellow at the National Center for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA), Pune, India, and at Arecibo Observatory, Arecibo, Puerto Rico. I worked extensively with radio telescopes, including the GMRT, VLA, EVN, VLBA, and the Arecibo Observatory. I also use multi-wavelength spectral/imaging data in my research. which spans across a range of topics in AGN viz., AGN feedback, dual AGN and supermassive black hole systems.
I am also associated with RAD@home, citizen-science research platform in astronomy.
I am currently affiliated with the Birla Archaeological Astronomical and Scientific Research Institute in Hyderabad, and actively exploring collaborative projects that bridge research, education, and public outreach.

Before joining RIT, I worked as a Software Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services, India for four years. I hold a Master's degree in Digital Electronics and Communication Systems from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India.

Science Day Celebrations 2018
Science Day is celebrated every year at the Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope (GMRT) with numerous exhibits from schools and colleges around Pune. For the astronomy wing, posters on several astronomy topics are displayed. A small quiz activity on the women scientists has attracted great attention.
